The MCSA is delighted to announce the launch of the MCSA YEA! (Young Explorer Award) to replace the former SuperTramp Award.
Not all those who wander are lost.– JRR Tolkien
MCSA YEA! will be awarded by The Mountain Club of South Africa to all MCSA members who will be participating in, or leading an expedition of members of the MCSA. Preference will be given to young mountaineers. This new MCSA initiative is to provide support for expeditions organised by MCSA members (of any Section) in good standing, and must have been a member for at least two years. To assist, the MCSA hopes to make funds available on an annual basis.
The prescribed application form (in MS Word) should be submitted by email, no later than 30 December 2024 for 2025, and going forward 30 December of the year preceding the expedition.
