The 52nd edition of the Silver Plaque to the Mountain Club of South Africa for its all-round commitment to mountain protection.

The 52nd edition awarded the silver plaque to the Alpine Club of South Africa, present in Val Rendena with a delegation and with the president Paul Cartensen, the president of an association that for 130 years has been involved in mountain rescue, safeguarding nature, environmental education and access management.

A commitment, that of the Cape Town association in the spirit of the prize established in the last century by the late Angiolino Binelli.

An award that has managed to survive its creator, as the mountains survive the mountaineers, but it is up to men to leave a sign of their passage, and in Pinzolo there are many traces and names on the rock. From the first mountain rescue station founded here in 1952, to today with the Silver Plaque flying to Cape Town.
