Sunday 27th February 2011 was a hot and windless day which allowed members who wished to use the Cable car to do so. Rev. Anthony Ryan of the Baptist Church Pinelands led the service, and the Club President Dave Jones, read the names of club members who had passed away during 2010/11.
The War Memorial Service has been held annually on the last Sunday in February since the Club erected the bronze dial near Maclears beacon on Table Mountain, Cape Town in 1922. It was officially inaugurated by Jan Smuts at the 1923 service.
Members of the MCSA, family, and friends gather to honour those who fell in the Great wars, and to remember club members who have sadly passed away during the past year.
